Classroon in a Blog Series: Fake Prom Corsage Making 101

You'll Need:
Fabulous sturdy flowers, floral tape, corsage ring, wire, ribbons of various widths, other decorations (we have pearly swirlies for this class) and a pair of sharp floral/kitchen scissors.

1. Buy fabulous various sturdy flowers in the morning, keep them in water, and in fridge or in a shady place (so the buds don't bloom on yas before the evening begins)

2. Trim flowers and leave about 2" to 3" stem (can always trim after). Save leaves (if any).

3. Pick and combine different colours, and shapes. Odd number flowers often look better, but in our case, our rose bubs were too huge and heavy for three. Lay out your work area.

4. Test out the arrangement, be creative!

5. Start by taping a flower and a few leaves with small piece of floral tape. Remember to always turn your mini bouquet in different angles to acheive a fuller effect. Can add other unusual materials or other decorations into the mini-bouquet such as feathers, sparkly things. When you think you're about done, trim all stems to about 1" and wrapped around with floral tape.

6. Wrap thin ribbons around the taped area. We tied a whole bunch of bows with the ribbons and leave them strangly randomly.

7. Feed long piece of ribbon into the metal backing. Attach corsage metal backing to stem with the sides clammed tightly around the bouquet stem.

8. Try it out on wrist... Voila! Keep corsage in a container (Take-out boxes are great for this purpose), fridge corsage whilst you're doing make-up until you're ready to go!
